She said, "Are you hungry?"
He responded, "No, are you?"
"Just a bit", came the reply..a gentle whisper of a suggestion more than anything.
"Then I will catch you a fish for your supper..and we will dine together under the stars, beside the fire..in the light of the Moon, and it will please the Lord if it is pleasant to you."
She took his hand in hers and kissed it. A tear fell from her eye to meet one of his own among the verdant blades below.
And so he took his kit and he rigged it up and began to angle as if his life depended on it, for it did. And though he wasn't hungry..he was starving; without a growl to his belly, nor thoughts of food on his tongue.
Thus it was that he was driven to ply his skills throughout the late afternoon hours until 3 were bagged there. Fare enough to feed a princess and a grateful servant-prince.
The River's blessings rarely failed to come swiftly downstream.
"I am here, dear heart", he called to her, when the distance between them would first allow it. Had he been gone long? Would he go again? "All for you dear queen", he thought, then ran to see her there.
And the fire was lit and the time came to prepare the food..but he'd thought about it and knew his duty too. So he took the fish to a spot away, to prepare it there. To hide from her sight what God would not place before her, an ugliness that might harm the Timeless Child. He would shield her, serve her. This was his call.
"They are ready", he sighed in her ear as they fried..and there were moments I won't here describe. These windswept lovers, behind tall flames and gray smoke met on some other plane. The smell of their dinner awoke them; his hand falling from her face..he prepared them.
"Your supper, darling", he bowed.
"Oh, you sweet man", she smiled and cried.
And they fell into each other's arms again for another time, while the cool breeze of nighttime dropped softly as mother's kiss upon their foreheads.
"Is it enough, my love?"
"It always was."
"Then it is pleasant to God and so me."
With great loves, there is a connection that allows mere words to suffice. Rare, but also undeniably nice.
When the fish were ready and the Moon had risen to the stranded heather height of dusk's daydream; the couple (well fed) drank of love between bites of their supper.
The End

Baby I love you. Under a cool jeweled moon two hearts know finally know finally feel unneeded words that failed to fill a lifetime of wandering and waiting And could Stars be wrong compassing, forming, birthing radiating heavenly light as tender and innocent as the gravitational tides that converged their existence. Lying with you on early spring’s dormant pressed grass the wind caressed our skin We became the wind Passing clouds kissed swaying treetops~ the clouds became the trees, the trees became the clouds, we became the window to God We were the sky, the curious, peeking sun We were the birds gently present chirps sounding eternal symphony to rememberance How could not such blessed sacrament but pulse a gift of love that moved a world of sighs to smile a gentle hope rightening the flow that had forever whispered its ancient embracing promise almost forgotten.

'Twere not forgotten, love But kept safe within the confines Of a heart as yet unmet And God alone knows why The wait was long Insistent longing ache But if nature does not respond to pressure Tell me heart Who could've rushed its pace? Here now In the glen Beyond the meadow Where crepuscular rays Break through the virgin pine There are eyes watching you Only a dance and chase away From where the grass breaks And begs to be trampled. daf

Exquisite poetry. True loving sentiments. I dont want to trespass here. You are two astonishing people. I will always have my guilt and deep regrets, but my worries are not what they were. It brings some peace to know that you have found each other. That you are happy, Lisa. God Bless You Both. And forgive me this intrusion.

Lisa, Songs that once stuck in our minds aren't shaken easily can still be lost my love with time though called eventually Then sung or listened to, when found acquaintances again Perhaps forgotten soon about Perhaps never again But of these two you never were for I will not forget the loveliest tune I ever knew the sweetest I know yet Until your heart envelopes mine and I should cease to be know this, dear muse my heart beats true unto your melody. daf

Lisa, April snows and like the storm winds blow I find my heart racing down the way to where you're waiting Each gentle flake that falls is like a rare feather Baby could we catch them all? They're tittillating All updated Shining like the sparkle in your eyes when we're together lately Could I catch you in my arms and hold you like a feather in the snowy April weather, baby? (refrain) Rains will come and darling 'fore they're done I'll taste the *cool magic* sent with every one Raindrop glist-en-ing embrace could ask tender fingers to softly touch a face That is Tittillated Fascinated By the sparkle in your eyes under the rain when we're together lately Could I catch you in my arms and taste you like the raining on a cloudy April morning, baby? (refrain) (break down) Can I keep you with me through these fickle April days? Setting sun the day is almost done Come to a warm lover who'd never love another one Until the stars come out to play we'll try to catch the envy of a sunny April day We'll leave it Titillated So frustrated trying hard to sparkle like your eyes when we're together lately Could I catch you in my arms and blaze into the summer from the spell you put me under, baby? daf

Dear precious Lisa, Could it be that angels also wearied need to rest with the troubles of humanity clung tightly to their breast? Is there solace and forgiveness found in slumber's peaceful place? Could blessed rest restore the faith which ever keeps them strong and safe among our selfish kind with our simple, brutal minds? Does divinity, on waking find itself recalled to life in the midst of mediocrity and endless mortal strife? Is sleep's healing tasked with softening a constant angel's test? Could the look upon your sleeping face mean angels also rest? Love, daf

On the quality of our love

Dear heart, There is so much stupidity in the way most people "love" each other these days. There is no them, it seems..only ourselves, regardless of the appearance of things. Like selfish needy infants, we impose our world upon their own in some sadistic reenactment of our loneliness and expectations. And rarely, it seems, does this wretched state of our loving become more apparent, than after the love has begun to die...and then after it is dead. Then the guilt begins, and the unwelcome intrusions on peace of mind. Or the endless comparison of the quality of each lover's loving; a bickered laundry list of half truths spun like some web to retain what we really wanted: a soul to take our pain from us. Mewling babies reach out to intrude and inflict pain and unpleasant memories upon us; grasping at straws. They don't stop calling, or showing up in the places where they know they will find us. They won't stop demonstrating in typically ignoble fashion, what a waste of time the whole thing was. I couldn't see myself doing that to you Lisa, God forbid we should ever part. I couldn't see repaying the wonder of what time the Almighty has given me in the blessings of your company by hurting and hounding you with past regret and present pain. And I certainly couldn't see myself trying desperately to lock you away in your unhappiness in order to sate my own. I couldn't do that to you. These days are what I have and they mean everything to me. May they grow to be counted by the decade, my love. And may I never sully their memory or dare to press the pain upon your heart that I would feel if we ever parted. Eternally I am loving you, with a love so pure and true. Yours, daf

Darling Lisa, When I saw your face upon your return today my heart leapt into my throat with blessed relief to my unkempt expectation Could there be more joy in this world than that which we've found? Perhaps it's not praying for miracles that brings them about but finally releasing them to the winds that they might circle and return to us This is the revelation of the experience that is loving you: That love is borne by the wind and that those breezes knowing our needs fan the flames of our hearts and then feed them according to their need. Thank you darling. I love you, daf

To you dear one, Sate my fire with your noble way drink the coffee and lingering lift the tons that aren't moving like a tongue of lead child of autumn speak and as the shaman said thunder flickers until midnight then the All inspired taste of Eden coming tends to sate my fire Lift the sacred lover's cup sip until you've had enough leave not in the early light for wasted, barren night-scapes where lepers bite cackle with delight will you lift your arms in jeweled mystic flight? thunder comes again from the Endless Name autumn child you speak like the desert rain into thirsty mouths when you cry aloud "Honor never died" and it sates my fire It sates my fire precious autumn child.. Humbled daily by you, daf

To a dream come true, Somewhere 'round the banyan tree there waits Eros in dream his secret treasure tucked away 'neath boughs which wood nymphs tend The stream beside the path cannot hide it's trickling rush of anticipation nor flow but to my destination: zephyred, sunny hair subtle tangerine parted lips to meet my own whispers to a pulse that quickens to match the timing of my stride The meadow harked then greeted me but soon was left behind by a lover's need a passion seen by wildflowers sown in Spring; all coronation ready decked out in Sunday bloom The songbirds sing but barely through the throb in my ears chest and anxious mind Oh blessed path do lead to there! Be merciful to me! Accursed trail! Thou endless walk how cruel you are indeed! Yet, memorable unforgettable so fondly and vividly is recalled that place where my darling waits somewhere 'round the banyan tree. My love always, daf

Lisa, Thank you so much for all of the effort and love that went into last night. You continue to amaze and enchant me more every day. You melt my heart butter slathered on a roll, rib of honey Warm on corn "hot out the pot" breathing my tastes sating an appetite there is no filling No empty plate today for me; there is no hunger anymore "Have all you like" you say I'm awed and so I wonder if this love ever closes or is it all we can eat? Love, daf

Lisa, I haven't done anything for you my love perhaps one day you'll see that perhaps some day you'll understand that as breathing is nothing but means everything so are the moments passed in serving you I could no more hold my breath forever than deny my need to love you and indeed there is no deeper need I feel no grand necessity that could hope to rival this plea The air I breath is your contentment. Love, daf

He is so gifted in so many ways. I am more awed everyday -- so much beauty he beholds and shares with everyone he meets. If only you all could see the way he brings people to open and smile. It's amazing to witness. Defensive strangers lighten, and soften in his presence. He has a special endearing way about him. I have been so hesitant here... not knowing where to begin, or how to breach the usual privacy of my heart. Thank you Everyone who have wished us well here. Sharing this journey with us in a way. I'm grateful for your kindness. Thank you to you in my most giving breath, dear, darling Daf. could I describe a feeling as intimate as the sun's steady breath in tune with infinity's pregnant Mystery?
could it tell the way your eyes look into mine~ the way blue eyes pool with an emotion only reverent of surgent acknowledgment?
There was a knowing from the first pause
there were tears that shall forever remain welling
yet captured and consoled~ by your heart's reaching and open-arm sensing
catching the wet, smiling, grateful weariness of my tears in between the exhausted droplets of your own.
The road winded
so very long, my love
farther than the faint glimmer our burrowed awakenings could foresee
battles never raged drawn, quartered to engage, again and again.
You knew.
You understood.
We walked a parallel dream
til destiny circled to our arms.
