I just got to thinking about this yesterday with it being 2006... and 8 year. For me it's a 1 personal year though.

To get this number you add your birth month (for me it's a 9 for Sept), birth day (2), add them together 9 + 2 = 11 add this number together until you can reduce it to a single digit... 1 + 1 = 2. Take this number and add it to the year number... 2 + 8 = 10 which you again reduce to a single number 1 + 0 = 1. A 1 personal year... New Start. Sounds good to me.

So, what is your personal year? I have a good book about this if anyone wants me to share. It's time to start dinner (or supper as they say here in the South), so I will come back to share about a 1 Personal Year!

I'm also happy that by the end of this month I will be done with my Saturn sq Neptune transit!!! I can get out of the fog and start enjoying my New Start of a 9 year cycle!

Well, according to the formula you've given:
8+(2+6)= 16
1+6= 7

Add to the 8 year:
7+8= 15
1+5= 6

So my personal year is 6.

That's correct ladies ... your birth year doesn't matter in this system.

So Maria, you are in a 1 personal year, and Carrie is in a 6 personal year.

I will type them up tomorrow and tell you more about them. I got into hanging out with family, and forgot I'd said I'd come back and type up the 1 personal year.

Since my birth numbers add up to a 9 (7 + 11 = 1+8), I have the same personal year number as the current year number. 8.

A One Personal Year (A new cycle begins)

In a One year, you will feel an urge to change directions. Don't be afraid to try something you've always wanted to do. This is a very good time to plan and initiate new activities. A Six Personal Year

During a Six personal year, you are more aware of responsibility and obligation. The purpose of this time is to give you the opportunity to create a harmonious atmosphere. It is a time of domestic life and helping others...

Domestic affairs may take up a lot of time. You must think of others, which means putting them ahead of your own desires. Marriage, happy or not may be an issue. It is an excellent time for settling into a permanent relationship, having a child, building a home, or even becoming a teacher.

A Six year is both a nurturing and tesing time. The goal is to learn to give back some of the bounty you have received. It's not the time to be impulsive, engage in petulant behavior, or have a self-centered attitude. It's a time for giving generosly, forgiving, growing, and maturing.

An Eight Personal Year

In an Eight year, you will feel the stirrings of ambition after the slow Seven year. You have a better sense of your strengths and are willing to take on more challenges. You have a big decision to make in this year as you are in a fullfillment year of the cycle (that is if you've made a strong effort). You have more confidence, feel that you fit in, know who you are and where you are going. This year is like a graduate course of study, and you will be tested and evaluated...

Money is the big lesson here. Income and expenses are often equal, but you may cash in on what is owed to you now. Your judgement is good and persistence high. You will be asked to achieve more than you thought was possible, and once you make a decision... go for it! This is a good time for investments, groups, working with institutions, and selling or buying property. You will attract abundance this year. This can be a time for spiritual development... the answers are available to you now. Think of the future, and not of the past and mistakes. Any setbacks you have in this year will be temporary...

Thanks, Kel. That sounds a lot more hopeful than I expected for an 8 year. But, some of it does make sense. "Slow" is an understatement for the past year. But, I think it had it's purpose. Just out of curiousity, what does your book say about a 7 year? If you don't mind a bit of extra typing, that is.

Thanks for the year 6 interpretation Kel. As for my 6 year... Responsibility and giving eh? Well, the giving part sounds about right. This semester I'm going to be doing my practicum with an organization that specializes in preventing and helping victims of child abuse. I'm also going to be doing my backup practicum because that practicum opportunity came a bit too late, however, this is less hours and can be just considered volunteer work at this point. Basically I'll be helping freshmen who are on academic probation. That's all just this semester... In the fall I start my internship. So yes... Giving and responsibility for the people I'm helping will most certainly be a theme this year. Should be interesting to say the least...

I'm glad that they are making sense... I will try to get back to your previous personal years at some point later today. It's not all that much typing, so I don't mind at all. Then... since I will have typed 6 out of 9, I'll eventually type up the remaining 3 so that everyone can read about the personal year they are in.

I'm glad to be in a 1 year, as when I found out about this system I was in a 3 year, and was involved in a love triangle (my husband, the other woman and myself). This was all brought to my awareness by the therapist I was seeing at the time (the affair was what led me to therapy) who told me that she was not surprised to learn that I was in a 3 year.

I'm finding the "1" personal year consistent with a new Saturn cycle as Saturn crosses my Ascendent. Check out today's picture:

I know a few people with Chiron in the 7th too. I think I may have posted about the placements sometime ago (a year or maybe 2), so you may want to do a search on it.


You all have placements in common with Maria, but you both have planets in common with me. Carrie has quite a few being a fellow , but Eagle I think you and I have Jup cj Sat in in common.

A Seven Personal Year

A Seven year is a time of reevaluation and shifting values. It is a pause in the cycle for you to look back over the last seven years and analyze and integrate what you have been working on. It is best to do this in a detached manner, and observe what no longer works in your life. Who in your life have you outgrown? You will be asked to let go of something you value, only to have it return to you in its own time.

Take this time to focus on your skills and refine them... get more education. You should feel a new sense of maturity and self-worth. Move slowly and practice paitence. Money will come if you are willing to wait... don't push. If you experience fatigue, it's a time to slow down and see how you can balance your life. Marriage or partnership may not be easy if there is a conflict of goals, but rework agreements rather than give into impassioned outbursts.

This year falls between two very demanding periods, and allows you to realize those parts of yourself that are most important. whatever happens during this time will be for the best.

A Nine Personal Year

In a Nine personal year, the cycle is coming to a close. It is a time of fulfillment and completion. Events in your life precipitate changes in job, marriage, and life-style. You have the sense of having learned something and are getting ready for a new start. Next year will be a major transition. Make an attempt to wrap-up all of your affairs. A long distance trip may even be in the cards during a Nine year.

It is time to let go of the old and let in the new. Detach yourself from those who drain you and open a space for someone who is right for you now. Clean out your closets (wish I would have read this last year ). Be tolerant and do your best to put things into perspective. Live and let live, but most importantly... forgive. This is not a time to be petty or nagging, and try not to feed into depressive moods because something better is just around the corner.

Don't start anything new in a Nine year. Wait to get married or move. Anything that is started between Jan and Sept is on the old cycle... wait until at least Sept before making major decisions.

A Five Personal Year

A Five personal year is all about change...it's a year of changes. You are in the middle of the nine-year cycle, so expect the universe to send you surprises, especially in May and September.

It is best to be flexible and follow your curiosity. This year is a year of action. You may be feeling restless after the restrictions of the previous year. Take that trip you've planned and saved for. Avoid making impulsive decisions and don't burn your bridges. You have new energy and it's very likely that a new job will come your way. You may even have an affair...

Don't be modest... this is a year to promote yourself and your projects. Make an effort to get out and meet people, shake hands. You will find that people are attracted by your energy and enthusiasm.

Watch the tendency to overindulge in eating and drinking during a Five personal year. Be sure to use your energy constructively. This is a year that you will be less willing to follow the rules...

What's funny is that May is when all of the surprise crap happened right before I had to leave. At the beginning of May or maybe the end of April is when my Mom fell and broke her shoulder and ended up having to have major surgery to replace the ball part of the ball and socket. Her surgery happened to be at the very end of May. During that month I graduated, had to deal with her surgery, and buy a car (which was a surprise in and of itself, because we got a really good deal on my car), all in the few weeks in between my graduation and my moving to Colorado.

September wasn't quite as surprising, though that is when I randomly decided on the spur of the moment to cut my hair short again.

I also got a new job last year as well...

So yes, that was pretty accurate, and it looks like the 6 personal year is shaping up to be exactly what it says it is going to be as well...

Oh, and Suchie... Yes, I have Uranus in the 1st, Moon in the 5th, and Chiron in the 7th, like you and Maria do.

When I do follow and pay attention to what year I'm in, I too find them to be pretty accurate. There are a lot of things about the 9 year that rang true for me. My Mom's passing was certainly and ending and wrapping up of a cycle, I made 4 trips to Pittsburgh last year (but that's been pretty true every year), had a job and lifestyle change, and some things in my marriage changed as well. The put things in perspective part and forgive came into play in more than one situation in my life...

I just figured out what personal year I got re-married in... it was a 5 personal year, and a lot about a 5 year rings true there!

A year of changes... Yeah, I'd say so. I got divorced in Jan (after a 2 year seperation), met Troy in May, quit my job, sold my house and moved to KY in Aug, started my job here in Sept, got re-married and met many new people!

I'd say it was one of the biggest change years of my life!!!

The first time I got married it was a 1 year (beginning of a new cycle). I also had my son that year.

Carrie, I wasn't sure if your chiron was in the 7th or the 8th. So then it must be instead of like mine. I knew one of them was different. But, I couldn't rememeber which one.

Kelly, the 7 year description makes sense. It was also the general year number and we saw that kind of quiet re-evaluation happening for everyone in general. I suppose for me it was a double-dose.

All this talk about cycles made me think back to my last 8 year - 1997. I started the year a bit stressed out as I was appearing for a very important exam (a bit like taking the SAT is for you in America) and I experienced my first major disappointment in life that year too as my results weren't upto my expectations. However, after that the year just turned out to be the best in my life up until then.

That was when I learnt about Reiki and took the workshops (much against my will at first; I thought it was just a lot of mumbo jumbo until that moment after my first set of attunements when I first felt the unusual warmth in my hands that was Reiki ). I started junior college that year and made more friends than I'd ever had before, met one of my best friends then and basically had a blast. It's got to be the most fun year I've had to date. Well, 1998 was good in that sense too. But, in terms of overall growth, 1997 was a benchmark. And if 2006 is going to be anything like that, I'm really looking forward to it.
